The Perrin family is run by the the brothers Jean-Pierre and François, and their all together seven children. Most famous is probably their Château de Beaucastel, where both red and white Châteauneuf-de-Pape wines are made. The property is planted with all 13 grape varieties allowed in the appellation. All vineyards have been biodynamically cultivated for over 40 years (organic for over 60 years).

Although all the grape types are used, however, the family has an extra fondness for mourvèdre, which often forms the main part of the blend – and in combination with the property's location in the northern part of the country where the mourvèdre grape ripens, this gives the Château de Beaucastel wines a more elegant and refined style than the more traditional grenache-based editions of other Châteauneuf-de-Pape manufacturers.

In addition to the Château de Beaucastel, the Perrin family produces wine from a number of other wineyards in the Southern Rhône, as well as runs the magnificent wine castle of Château Miraval - ex-super couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's estate in the island village of Correns in Provence.
